First Days- Days of changes
The first days at home with a baby are full of changes: the mother’s body is healing, the baby is adjusting to life outside the womb, and the parents are starting to find their rhythm in this new daily reality.
As a kraamzorg, I’m there to support. To guide, reassure, explain when needed, but also just to be present so that you can start your parenting journey with more confidence.
My primary focus is on two key areas: the baby’s development and the mother’s recovery.
Together, we learn to recognize the little signs — hunger, tiredness, or moments of restlessness. We look at the baby together: how they seem, how they move, what their body is telling us. We feel their temperature, listen to their cries, and try to understand what they’re asking for. I share my thoughts out loud, ask questions, and invite parents to trust their instincts because to me, that’s the most important thing.
I’m making sure that Mom is healing physically, including checking for stitches and helping with breastfeeding if needed. If there’s a quiet moment, I like to add a slight touch of care, such as a warm meal, a foot massage, or simply a peaceful tea break.
What matters most to me is helping parents believe in themselves and tune in to their feelings. Every family is different, and there’s no one right way. I’m there, no pressure, no judgment — with presence, care, and a warm heart.
If you’re beginning your journey — I’m here to walk with you.
With love,
Ayelet
